Saint Andrew School Gala 2026


This year’s Fund-a-Need will be for school security enhancements, including an automated building security system, additional main door vestibule, landscaping and security along playground fence, added outdoor wall enhancement, school-wide security app, and part-time onsite resource officer. The total cost of this project will be approximately $110,000. The good news is that we have two matching donations of $25,000! We are challenged to match the donations totaling $50K on our way to the full goal. We will invite the full parish to help with the remaining funds.


Proposed Project $ Estimate Description
Automated Building Security System $65,000 Installs electronic and automated locking mechanisms on all doors. Would provide automated notifications if doors are inadvertently left open or unlocked.
Door F Security Vestibule $10,000 Adds a second door (after the main exterior Door F) creating a secure vestibule for school visitors to be signed in and vetted. After signing in, visitors would be admitted through the new 2nd door and allowed to access the school.
On-site resource officer $17,000 Estimated contracted rate for an Elk River police officer to be on site for an average of 3 hours/day providing an enhanced security presence.
Landscaping along East playground fence $5,000 Adds 36" boulders spaced every couple of feet along the east fence line of the playground to prevent a vehicle from being driven through the fence to gain access to the playground.
Security screen for West playground fence $2,000 Sheet metal panels will be hung on the existing iron fence to remove visibility into the playground from Irving Ave. The sheet metal panel would provide protection from an active shooter driving by on the street.
Added wall enhancements (in old window openings) along Irving $10,000 Add sheet metal panels the unused window panels on the exterior wall of the school facing Irving Street. The sheet metal panels would be covered by an ascetic covering. Provides protection to those in classrooms from an active shooter driving by on the street.
Navigate360 security app $1,000 The app provides an all-encompassing alert if an active threat is observed anywhere on the campus. Any teacher or staff member can activate the alert from their mobile phone. Active alerts trigger a school lockdown. When triggered, the alert immediately goes out to all school video screens and staff phones. Yearly subscription cost is $1000/year.
