Qualifications: 

1.   Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field

2.  Current State of Minnesota Teaching License or ability to obtain

3.  Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church

4.  Experience teaching middle school students, preferably in a Catholic school setting

5.  Strong classroom management skills and ability to differentiate instruction 


Duties: 

1.   Teach middle-school level curriculum (subjects to be taught may depend on applicant knowledge and experience)

2.  Teach one Homeroom section including Religion studies

3.  Develop engaging lesson plans that meet academic standards and promote critical thinking, integrating Catholic values into lessons

4.  Incorporate technology and hands-on learning experiences in the classroom

5.  Create a positive and supportive learning environment

6.  Assess and monitor student progress through various evaluation methods

7.  Actively work towards the mission of the school

8.  Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student success

9.  Participate in school events, professional development, and faith-based activities

General Music (PreK-Grade 8) and Beginning Band Teacher


Saint Andrew Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and passionate full time General Music (PreK-Grade 8) and Beginning Band Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. As a Catholic school committed to academic excellence and faith formation, we are looking for an educator who will inspire students to grow intellectually and spiritually while fostering a love for music.

Responsibilities:

  1. Teach general music to PreK – Grade 8 students
  2. Teach beginner to intermediate level band lessons to Grade 4 - 8 students
  3. Prepare students to sing and/or accompany songs at Mass
  4. Plan and prepare students for 2-3 concerts during the academic year
  5. Develop engaging lesson plans that meet academic standards and promote critical thinking, integrating Catholic values into lessons.
  6. Create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  7. Assess and monitor student progress through various evaluation methods.
  8. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student success.
  9. Participate in school events, professional development, and faith-based activities.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Music or related field
  2. Current State of Minnesota Teaching License (or willingness to obtain).
  3. Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
  4. Knowledge and ability to lead classroom music and band classes for elementary and middle school grades.
  5. Strong classroom management skills and ability to differentiate instruction.
