Last weekend we heard the readings for the Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time, in which Jesus begins teaching His disciples that He will suffer and die—and they begin arguing which of them is the greatest. Jesus tells them, "If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all."
In his homily, Dcn. Fred spoke about the many opportunities in this community to serve others, especially the less fortunate, the displaced, and the marginalized. He reminds us we are all brothers and sisters in Christ, and are called to be servants of all.
