Totus Tuus Team Profiles: Emma Crane

This year’s youth summer program, Totus Tuus, is not your average Vacation Bible School. Like VBS, Totus Tuus is fun, energetic and engaging for children of all ages, and includes games, skits, songs and more. In addition, Totus Tuus is solidly Catholic, teaching students about Jesus and the sacraments, Mary and the Church, prayer, the Bible and more.

The program is run by a team of four college students from the diocese who have trained and prepared to spend their summer drawing children and teens closer to Christ. Last week, the Diocese of St. Cloud announced the members of the St. Andrew Totus Tuus team, including one familiar name and face from our very own parish!

Totus Tuus Team Members
  • Emma Crane
  • Brandon Eich
  • Megan Sowada
  • Nathan Stracke

Over the next week or so, we will profile each of the team members, beginning with our very own Emma Crane from Elk River.

Emma has just finished her junior year at the University of St. Thomas, where she is studying vocal music education and Catholic studies. She enjoys spending time with her family (especially playing card or word games together), running, cross-country skiing, playing piano and reading. She is excited for the opportunity to teach others about the Catholic faith this summer and to grow in her own relationship with the Lord through this ministry.

Stay tuned in the coming days for three more team profiles, as well as additional information about the program itself.

Totus Tuus (pronounced TOTE-us TOO-us) means Totally Yours and was the papal motto of Pope St. John Paul II, through which he entrusted himself entirely to the Blessed Virgin Mary, who leads us without fail to her son, Jesus.

The cost is $30 per student and includes a t-shirt ($90 family maximum).  Students in the daytime session will bring their own peanut-free snacks and sack lunches.

We will need teen volunteers to help the Totus Tuus team with the morning program. Those teens will be asked to register for and attend the teen program, which begins Sunday evening. We could also use a few adult volunteers for the daytime and evening programs.
