On the weekend of June 1-2, 2019, we celebrate the Ascension of Our Lord. Both the first reading, from the Acts of the Apostles, and the gospel present accounts of Jesus' Ascension into heaven. Fr. Newton's homily gives us the hope that our life and death, like Jesus' life and death, are not all there is. The Ascension is not the end of God's story, but the beginning of the Kingdom of God here on earth and the start of the countdown to His second coming. Father also reminds us that Christ has called us all to witness to our experience of God's love. Jesus, we trust in you!
