New Faith Formation Leader Announced

The Church of Saint Andrew is happy to announce that Jim Thorp has agreed to lead our Faith Formation activities going forward. Jim was hired last fall as a part-time communications, evangelization outreach coordinator after working for three years as faith formation director for his home parish of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. Prior to that, he worked for 20 years as a professional writer and editor, and volunteered as a youth minister, engaged couples speaker, Natural Family Planning witness, and adult and teen catechist.

"I left my work at St. Michael to write and evangelize on my own, but God had other plans," Jim said. "Saint Andrew has had a lot of change in the faith formation area in recent years, but great things are happening in this parish, and I'm excited to be a part of it."

Jim has been married to his wife Jodi for 21 years and has five children—Brendan, 20; Gabriel, 17; Emma, 15; Trevor, 13; and Lily, 6—as well as a seven-month-old Airedale named Bruno. He writes about faith and family life at archangelstomp.com/blog. For more about his background, check out this brief introduction.

Jim will also be writing for the parish website and bulletin, and he hopes to connect with as many families as possible this spring and summer. You can reach him at the Parish Office at 763-441-1483 x312 or jimt@saint-andrew.net.
