This weekend, the Catholic Church in the United States celebrates the Feast of the Epiphany, which commemorates the three Magi, or Wise Men, from the East coming to pay homage to the newborn king, Jesus. In a deeper sense, this revelation of Jesus to pagan Gentiles is our first indication that He is the Savior, not just of the Jewish people, but of the whole world.
The Feast of the Epiphany marks the end of the Christmas season and is ripe with tradition for Catholic and Orthodox churches and families. For more about this great feast day, see the links and resources below. Also, take a few minutes to watch the Jeff Cavins video reflection on our homepage, in which he shares his thoughts on the scripture readings for Epiphany.
