Readings and Homilies for the Weekend of April 21-22, 2018 (English and Español)

This past weekend we celebrated Good Shepherd Sunday, the Third Sunday of Easter, as well as World Day of Prayer for Vocations and First Communion for five children who missed out due to the snowstorm the previous weekend. Fr. Mark spoke about the calling of priests to the mission of the Good Shepherd, Jesus, and reminded the First Communicants that through the priests and sacraments, Jesus nourishes us so that we can become exactly who we are called to be. Fr. Newton spoke of the relevance of the shepherd imagery today: that as the Good Shepherd, Jesus seeks a personal relationship with each of us, is willing to lay down His life for us, cares for us and calls us each by name. No matter who we are or what we become, we are all called to the vocation of shepherd, caring for souls and calling them back to Jesus and His Church!
