This past weekend we celebrated the Third Sunday of Easter, as well as First Communion for approximately 60 children whose families braved the April snowstorm to bring them to Mass and the Eucharist. Fr. Mark gave the First Communion homilies at the English-language Masses, reminding the first communicants and their families that we are never more "one body" than during the Divine Liturgy, when we all receive Jesus in communion with the entire Church here on earth and in heaven. Fr. Newton walked us through the three Sunday readings to show that Jesus died to forgive us our sins and came back to His friends who abandoned him to show that all of us can repent and be forgiven.
